Attention All DeMatha Hockey Alumni!

It is with a heavy "Red & Blue" heart I announce that due to precautionary standards set forth by the DeMatha Administration & Athletic Department, we are going to cancel the 2021 Alumni Games this Saturday evening at the Gardens Ice House

Other school districts have noticed an "uptick" of Covid cases.  Our Hockey program has been dealing with a rash of illnesses this week but thankfully, all were non Covid related.

We are committed to maintaining the safety and wellness of our student athletes and in this case, our former student athletes.  We are dedicated to maintaining the highest standard of care and development for our program.

As Alumni for our esteemed program, I hope that you can appreciate this moving ahead.  Personally, I am gutted to announce this move, but seeing so many players sick this past week, I do not want to take a chance of spreading any illness to the larger DeMatha Hockey community.  Knowing that some Alumni bring their family and children to the event, it is best to err on the side of precaution for everyone's benefit.

I will miss the handshakes, high fives, hugs and most of all, the wonderful stories we all share during the Alumni game.  I love filling our locker room with these tales of the past that can be listened to by our current players.

I want to extend my personal gratitude to those of you who took the time to reach out personally via text and email about the season.  It means a great deal to me as well as the players in the program.  We look forward to leaping ahead after Christmas with the vigor and intensity that all of you, the Alumni, brought to the DM logoed jerseys.
