**MANDATORY** King Devick Concussion Testing

Attention All DeMatha Hockey Players and Parents:

In keeping with the health requirements for all Student Athletes, each Hockey Player is required to complete a mandatory “test” by the Trainers at DeMatha.  This requirement is called the “King Devick” test and it is part of the Impact Test which is also on file with the Training Staff.  This test is a 5 minute review of the protocol that assists a great deal when an athlete becomes concussed.

This test can be administered by a member of the Training Staff in the event a player is concussed during physical activity.  This test is used in conjunction with the Impact test to help athletes recover from such an injury.

All players will report to the Training Room at the following times:

  • Last Name A through L  report to Training Room during free period (Nov. 6 - 9) – THIS WEEK
  • Last Name M trough Z  report to Training Room during free period (Nov. 13 – 16) – NEXT WEEK

PLEASE REMEMBER:

  • All players are REQUIRED to complete this task.
  • This process will take 5 minutes to complete.
  • Trainers have a tablet which you will use to complete the test.
  • Please adhere to the above mentioned times to complete the task.
  • Failure to complete this test may result in the Player not being allowed to be on the ice – please get this done ASAP.

Thanks very much!

GO STAGS!

Cheers,

Tony
